Becker School is not currently open. We are opening in September 2024.
Located in the heart of Batley, Kirklees, Becker School provides exceptional specialist education for children aged 5-13 with a diverse range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Our students may have diagnoses including Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), trauma-related issues, anxiety, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), as well as Communication and Interaction, Cognition, and specific learning needs.
At Becker School, we are committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child can thrive. Our tailored approach ensures that each student receives the support they need to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. With a focus on individualised care and specialised teaching methods, we empower our students to overcome challenges and build a foundation for lifelong learning and success.

- Small bespoke groupings of 4-6 young people plus a class teacher/tutor and at least one Teaching Assistant per group across our spacious site, with appropriate boundaries in place to safeguard all children.
- Within the Polaris Community we have six SEN schools across the UK who work together to provide each pupil with a tailored, diverse and appropriate education in a safe, supportive environment that promotes engagement, inspires learning and encourages achievement.
- Our schools offer safe learning areas for our younger pupils to ensure they are able to thrive and grow while receiving high quality teaching based on the National Curriculum. Teachers adapt the pupils learning to suit their ability and needs. We want to make sure that our pupils, regardless of age feel welcome and secure throughout the school day.
- Younger pupils are taught through the National Curriculum ensuring a broad and balanced curriculum which is tailored to match their academic ability in all subjects.
- The staff team are well equipped and trained to support children with a range of needs, seeking support and guidance from a range of internal and external professionals.

Our nurturing community works collectively to support the very best outcomes for each and every child in our care.
